The Rooibos You Buy Has Its Own Variety Name
Nearly every rooibos field grown today is one narrow, bred selection, not just "the red bush." Growers and chemists call it the Nortier type, the Rocklands type, or in Afrikaans mak tee, tame tea, and the identity runs deep enough that a whole botanical group carries its breeder's name.
