About the Ministry

The Ministry of Rooibos is an independent office devoted to a single subject: rooibos, the red bush of the Cederberg. We exist to explain it plainly, calmly, and without hurry, and to issue the occasional cup of calm free of charge to anyone who asks. We keep strictly to rooibos, its botany, its growing, the science of what it is and is not, and the brewing of it, and we leave the wider world of true tea to others better caffeinated for the task. The Ministry is published as a chartered member of the United Federation of Tea Taxonomy. It carries advertising, clearly labeled, which does not influence a word of what we write. The Ministry observes no business hours after four o'clock.
